Chinese 4 Pillars of Destiny?
In Chinese metaphysical studies, we often hear references to the Three Lucks: Earth Luck (Feng Shui or “being in the right place at the right time”, Man Luck; what you do, the decisions you make, free will, and Heaven Luck; what you are born with; our constitution. The belief is you inhale your destiny with your first breath. The art of Bazi (4 Pillars – 8 characters) studies the pattern of energies present at the time of your birth. The “4 Pillars” are the 2 characters each for: year, month, day and hour of birth.
Is it astrology?
Technically, no because it is not dependent on the movement of the planets sun or moon. However, it is often called Chinese astrology because it uses 12 divisions of time commonly referred to as the Chinese animal zodiac.
Why would someone want to know their 4 Pillars of Destiny?
By knowing the patterns of influence at birth and understanding the universal natural cycles of those energies, you have a tool to make decisions that will better harmonize those energies. 4 Pillars is also useful in finding appropriate activities and careers to follow and even at times, better climates for you to live in (Feng Shui). Similar to finding yourself unbalanced with a nutritional deficiency and knowing which nutrients would help bring you back to balance. If you know the imbalance of the energies at the time and place of your birth, you can find activities that will help bring you back to balance.
If I know my 4 Pillars, will I know my future?
Not necessarily. If you know your 4 Pillars, you will know the energetic patterns that will cycle through your life. The patterns and interactions of these energies can indicate various possibilities but everyone has a choice in how they act, react and the decisions they make. The cycles will indicate tendencies; your actions will indicate the outcome.
What do you need to do my 4 Pillars chart?
I need your year, month, day and time of birth as well as your place of birth. If the time is questionable, I may need to find out events and their time frames in your life to help determine the correct chart.
